The Juniper Branch of Family Finders has been awarded a grant to buy materials to construct a kiosk where visitors to Mt Jefferson Memorial Cemetery can locate their ancestor's grave, particularly when the county offices are closed.

The construction of the shelter is to be done by employees of Jefferson County Buildings and Grounds Department in keeping with the requirements of the County Commissioners.

The shelter will have a large map of the cemetery and a book listing all the names and grave locations which is to be updated as needed. The map will be laminated to keep out moisture and mounted behind Plexiglass for preservation.

Information will be available to let visitors know who to contact if they wish to obtain a copy of and obituary.

The book will also include the locations of the other cemeteries in Jefferson County with the names of those buried there. Information will be provided to inform the public that the Jefferson County Cultural Coalition provided funds for the materials and that labor has been provided by Jefferson County Buildings and Grounds.
